Student Government Association (SGA)

The SGA at Commonwealth University College of Medicine (CUCOM) works closely with the administration to address student concerns and act as a bridge between students and faculty. The organization aims to provide resources that can help students achieve academic success. 

  • First is the campus copy and supply center, which sells a variety of CUCOM -related items, medical school supplies, food, and lecture notes from teachers. 
  • Additionally, SGA publishes a monthly newsletter called “CUCOM News,” which includes articles written by CUCOM students, interviews, school news, medical event updates, and other information. 
  • Lastly, tutoring services are available to students.

American Medical Student Association (AMSA)

AMSA is an organization that provides its members with opportunities to gain practical experience in the field of medicine and engage in community health initiatives. One such initiative is the provision of free monthly diabetes screenings. Additionally, AMSA offers clinical courses to all students with the aim of enhancing their basic clinical skills.

Clinical Research Society

The Clinical Research Society comprises highly accomplished students who have the opportunity to interact with professors and medical professionals through engaging in intellectual conversations. The students also utilize cutting-edge technologies for anatomical research and often submit their findings to esteemed medical journals.

Women’s Medical Student Association

This organization aims to support the inclusion of women in the medical profession, promoting their personal growth, advocating for gender balance in administrative and faculty positions, and organizing educational events for the Columbus Central University community to foster a sense of unity among all medical students.

The Indian Students Association

The Indian Student Association (ISA) aims to increase awareness and appreciation of Indian culture and traditions among the students, faculty, staff, and residents of the CUCOM Membership is available to all students at no cost, and the association encourages members of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to participate and share their experiences. ISA hosts events throughout the academic year to celebrate important festivals and cultural events. Additionally, the organization sponsors social gatherings to foster a sense of community among members.
